Here's what did this morning. Nice tut, not too difficult, just keeps you on your toes about concentrating which layer you are working with. Uses copy merged which is nice. uh oh, just noticed must have missed the part of closing off the frame layer when copy merge. The dandelions aren't supposed to be in the frame.

The more I thought about it I should have left the frame at the top of the layers, Cat had said move it on top after, and I misunderstood that, it automatically went to the top and I moved it down to be on top of the first dandelion. Of well, I didn't save it and am not about to do it over. Will just have to do.

We are building a combo of 1 and 2. Our main house is plan 2, but we have the detached garage that goes with the original plan. We did not make many changes. I put a french slider in the dining room, removed the wall between the dining room and the living room, and changed the kitchen around a bit. I think that's it. We are building in CA, which is expensive. We are hoping to come in under 200 per sq foot, but that does not include land, permits, or design/engineering fees. Our budget is tight. We are owner builders, DH is doing a lot of the work himself, and I am shopping for deals like crazy. I think we'll make it, but the budget is too tight for comfort...I'd recommend a higher one! Are you willing to make any changes to the existing exterior walls? E.g., enlarge the "Family Entry" area to put a Laundry Room in the Family Entry (to the left in the layout in the next post - the layout has been turned 90 degrees to fit the page better)? Is this for a young couple or growing family, or is it for a retirement home? If retirement, I would not want the Family Entry at a different level than the rest of the floor - it could become difficult to navigate if you have knee problems later in life or if a wheelchair is needed someday. (If a retirement home, then this floorplan would be problematical anyway unless there's an elevator b/c there's no full bathroom on the first floor. The Library could be transformed into a bedroom, but without a full bathroom, but there's no full bathroom.)
