Sorry to hear that. Seems like I remember you posting a pic of this plant recently & it looked great. If it wasn't yours, sorry, but I remember saying the pic made me want to move mine to more shade. I've had mine for about a year now and have fertilized it maybe twice. Seems to grow extremely slowly, so wondering if it doesn't appreciate such a rich living. Also recently repotted mine, about 2 weeks ago. Separated the 4 individual plants and made a hodge-pot with it, putting it with Cordyline fruticosa and T. zebrina. Looks fantastic together, and all are very comfortable with virtually no direct sun. The very first and last minutes of the day, it might get a ray or two. Although it was doing great in an east window inside for winter, lately the much stronger rays were making it look a little faded. Even before repotting, I moved it back pretty far, away from getting direct sun. Looking more green, distinctly spotted now. For a Drac, I was surprised by the size of the root systems on these plants, comparatively small and very un-branching compared to other Dracs I've repotted. What did you think about your plants' roots?

Betonklotz, Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately I am losing that sunroom! The new home is bright but I won't have a place for the plants with that much sun until I decide what type of hobby greenhouse I'm putting in. Maybe a year or two. Until then I have to put lights in the basement for most of my plants. My plant hobby will be deminished in size for a couple of years... :( poor me!

Kristi, this time will pass, and the pain will become more barable as it becomes more distant from the hearing of it. IN the meantime, spend as much time with the growing plants as you can. They are the antithesis of untimely and unfortunate death. And remember how much that is alive and good you have around you...your beautiful household companions, your "date", your friends. Spring is probably here for you though it seems on hold for many of us (Likely snow tonight and blossoms a month late from the usual here!) Spring is all about renewal and new chances...grow into it, let go of the past sadness and revel in the spring and sunshine and new growth. It is hard to be sad when seeds are sprouting all around and flowers are budding! My glorious show of winter blossoms is almost over too. I think I am down to 15 buds at various stages, but I did have atleast one flower from almost everything. I seem to have a lot of non descript pale red and white ones that I can not identify.They look like Minerva's anemic country cousins! I finally figured out that they were the ones that were in the Jackson and Perkins basket of Amaryllis I had sent to my Mom the last year she was with us (2002. She had had a stroke but she still enjoyed watching those amaryllis grow and after Dad moved to a nursing home he sent the basket home with me. For 3 years they would pop into bloom just when I most missed Mom and I got to feeling that they were messages from her. They look so subdued though, I think they must have had more light before. They had multiplied in the basket over the 3 yrs and I ended up with 5 of them blooming over the past few weeks. One of these days I will get their pic into photobucket. (That seems to be one of my least favorite ways to spend my time.)

Hi all! I am enjoying the new job, though I will admit it was a challenge at the beginning! The guy who had been working there walked out and left a 3-4 week backlog of work piled up and deleted alot of the old job files (which I was able to retrieve (partially). Having not worked in a year I had to really figure out the machines quickly and get everything caught up. I am now on top of things and thankfully had all my contacts to get questions answered about certain things that stumped me. Things should go along a little smoother now. We have had rain and heavy wind the last 2 days--I found my GH on it's side this afternoon when I got home. It's back up and relocated now. I thank you all for the offers of replacement plants, but I want to wait to see what does come back and what room I may have left to plant stuff. I have 2 more gardens planned at the back of the house and once I get the ground dug up, amended and start planting I will have a better idea. This WILL be my LAST move!! Getting too old to do this again. Elizabeth--I will call TC one weekend and see what he has going on down there this year. He is a really nice guy and I have enjoyed getting to know him better over the last 4-5 years. Hope he has some of the ones I had gotten in the fall that did not make it as cuttings. Well-better get me some dinner and a shower and a fairly early night to bed. 4am comes early!! Linda
