???'s about PSP X..............

I just got a new computer it has PSP X trial version installed on it and I have a few questions, please and thank you.....

1) Why is it called Corel PSP X instead of Jasic, is there a difference?

2) If it's the same then where are the drawing tools?

TIA, I thought I had several more questions, but it's late and my brain just shut down lol.

Finally a question I can answer. The program PSP was sold by Jasc to Corel, therefore a new name.

Try opening PSPX, click on Toolbar and scroll to Tools and make sure there is a check there, to show the toolbar. All the tools should show up down the left side of the program including the drawing tool, which I believe is third from the bottom, and looks like a pen nib. There are drop down arrows beside some of the tools, click to see what they are.
You must have an image open for the tools to be active.

Hope this helps you - new versions are always a pain until you find your way around. Personally, I never quite make it before the next version comes out!

1.Corel bought out Jasc and HORNED in on PSP.
2.As with everything, we are now buying skeletons. Do you mean the Pen tool on the left?

Here is an older Google map of the land. The shed, garden, and some trees were added since this shot, and the neighbor has a bunch of crap in his back yard now. Notice the old fence line. That is where my fence was originally. The previous owner next door had her irrigation system and sod installed incorrectly, so when my sod company showed up, they just went with the survey stake located by the other company. Wasn't the property marker, but some sort of neighborhood plat marker next to the curb. Oops. So... fast forward 10 years, new buyers have the land surveyed and guess what? I have to move 100' of fence and 6 sprinkler zones. I was not a happy camper at the time. I didn't have enough room or reason for a gate on that side anymore (used to have an 8' gate on that side), and didn't feel like tying into their fence. So I decided to move the fence further onto my property and join up to the next corner post. Red line is new fence, yellow line is property line, orange line is line-of-sight from deck to deck. I'm not interested in shoulda-coulda-woulda, adverse possession laws, suing survey and sprinkler companies, or fence relocation. A bit off topic, but that's the story. Now: what can I plant there that will give me some privacy along the orange line-of-sight and will be mostly well-behaved? I am fine filling the entire thing in with mulch or ground cover so I don't have to mow. Shrubs on the E side of my house are limelight hydrangea. Hi funnylady, Yes, we did... The important word to note here is 'did' :-( Not sure if you have heard of the horrible wind storm the NW had a few months back.... Well it hit here with a vengeance. Normal high wind speeds of 15-20 mph (and that is a wind storm! Usually it's abt 0-3 mph) was clocked up the street at 84mph. Good new was.... Greenhouse frame still standing... other good news... I was able to locate all of the panels, even though several were abt 5-7 acres away behind our barn or some in the other direction out at the road ... Basically all went together well, (except we had planned on changing the doors to hinged rather than sliders) and we didn't get around to screwing the panels down (although they were double clipped). Overall the GH fared winter well... rain, snow and ice were no problem... but those horrific winds, well that was another story... We were without power for abt 3 days and friends had nineteen 100'+ Fir trees that came down (we were lucky, only branches everywhere) all our trees held their ground. Not sure any greenhouse could have withstood that windstorm, but had we screwed the panels in as planned we might have had even less damage.... Ah well.... BTW panels were all fine... are installed and screwed in now... don't want to tempt fate, but think it just might withstand that huge storm this time....

Marineguy, That's some cousin-in-law! If anything that heavy is in my yard I want it to be eating grass, not mowing it. Off topic did you see where the Germans have been doing studies on migratory birds and they have found that the birds have specialized cells in their eyes that can "see" the magnetic lines of force of the Earth's magnetic field? Gives them the first version of a HUD for navigation. 'Course that just gets me thinking that someone in the Pentagon will want to cross a goose with a SEAL... I was going to ask you, how much extra ability and/or survivability does the Osprey give over the Jolly Greens? I'm always concerned about our reliance on high-tech and of course the Russians have some pretty amazing planes that fly without massive computer assistance. Also they are designed to operate out of some pretty crappy airfields. Add in the fact that the Chinese seem to be trying very hard to find ways of fouling up our technology... I know that American aviation has done well when it comes against Russian planes but I suspect that is as much to do with the quality of pilots as anything else. I'm sure its somewhat different but we had some Ukrainian docs over for an exchange/learning program. Let's just say if I'm ever in the Ukraine I don't want to get sick.

Urlee, use the "Free Rotate", it gives you the option of one layer. You can type in the number and enable left or right. If you want it to rotate the image, exactly, the opposite, type in 270.00 (repeat) then use Flip. Terri, I use the Warp tool. What kind of help do you need ? Give me an example. Did you download X or did you buy the boxed version ? The manual has information on the Warp tool on pages 87/88. If you downloaded....click on... Help(top of workspace) Help Topics Index Type 'Warp' Click on 'Images' (under the word Warp) Click: Display (bottom of index)....it will bring up a menu with several choices. I really like PSPX, I don't use any of the other versions. I especially like the DCNR (Digital Camera Nose Removal). Joy

Thank you ladies, I was so confused about the name change. I finally found the tool bar for all the tools last night but when I posted the question I was getting frustrated thinking that all this version had to offer was photo editing. I have 7 8 and 9, but had never used X and it seems like they move two or three things with every version. I like version 8 but I had to get used to it too, argh!!

Which version do I need to key in for X to use animation shop? I don't really hate change, but this is getting to me hehehe.

Animation shop is a separate program that works with ALL PSP versions. It came with your 7,8,& 9.
I have the icon on my task bar for quick click to bring it up when I need it.

Thanks Urlee, I guess the problem I'm having with all this is because I have this new computer and the only version of psp on it so far is X. I'll have to load the other versions to get AS. I think I should have stuck with 7 lol.

I use PSPX and love it, it takes a while to find your way around, its quite an achievement when you have. I use animation shop, I keep both in my toolbar and switch. There is a patch for PSP10.03 which enables you to configure unused commands "update back to animation shop". I seem to manage with switching, no probs. Hope this helps a little.
