Scanner problems, do I post here?

Folks, as I am a newbie to the 21 century and the great innovations we have at hand, am needing some assistance here.

I have a Canon scanner LiDe20/30. Works great, only thing is, on Saturday and Sunday, last, I used it a lot, worked and send scans nicely. Came back to use it Monday nite after work, and this is what I find:

All settings are the same as S/S, but when I click to scan, after a couple seconds this yellow triangle with an exclamation point comes up and text in box says unable to open file. What the heck does that mean? I can scan and copy to the printer, just can't scan and send with email for some reason, worked great over the weekend.

OE, IE, 5, for both, 256 RAM, and at this time, says 50% of resources are free, tho I have been online for quite some time.

Could someone give me some insight as to why for 2 days I could scan and send emails just fine, and next day, I get a yellow triangle with unable to open file box?

I really can't help but didn't want you to feel ignored.

Maybe your scanner has lost the file it used for the drivers - try reinstalling the scanner software with your fingers and toes crossed and hopefully this will resolve any conflicts.

You could try posting at the computer forum - the clever folks over there might be able to help more.

Assuming your scanner has a USB connection, try unplugging it, then plugging it back in to see if Windows recognizes it again. if that doesnt help, try reinstalling the software as Jacksmum suggested..
after that, you'll need more technical help..

If you have your pictures hosted on a server somewhere, you can simply link to them using simple HTML codes. EXAMPLE: my photo's are on a hosting service called "Sparedollar.com". SO, to insert the pic within the body of this image, my HTML code is as follows: http://members.sparedollar.com/russjack/Mum_Garden_1650.jpg" height="500" width="375"> Now all you'll have to do is replace everything in red! Canon scanner printing problem

My printer does not give me a black line for any other print jobs. When I use the Copy selection or the Print selection in the scanner's main menu, that is when I get the black line. This time I used the Save selection, and printed from there, using the MP Navigator EX box, and it printed without the line. I still don't know why the other two selections don't work right, but at least now, I can print a 'clean' copy. Thanks.

When I was working on the design for my kitchen, I drew it up on good-old-fashioned graph paper and then took a picture of it with my digital camera. We didn't have a scanner at the time so this was the fastest way for me to do it. What I do now when I work on other people's layouts is to work in Microsoft's PowerPoint. I downloaded free graph paper off the web, copied it to a PPT presentation, and then created appliances, cabinets, fixtures, etc. to a scale of one box = 6"x6". Then, when I work on a layout, I make a copy of this "master", work up a layout on a slide, save the slide as a "JPEG" (.jpg) file, upload it to Photobucket, and post it here. I wish it were as easy as facebook! First put your photos on an online location (I use photobucket). With photobucket (I don't know if it's the same with flickr and shutterfly), all you have to do is copy the html link under the picture, and then paste that into the body of your message. Then, your pix will be right in your message, and you won't have to link to them at all. hth! francy
