| I have several probably simple things I just can't seem to figure out so I know where to come to :)
1- How to I make the background become faded looking? I can't think of the correct term for this. I used to be able to do it but can't remember now. I used PSP 5 then so maybe PSP 7 is different. 2- How to I use selector tool & get the feathered look? I can do all but getting rid of the outside portion. When I hit delete it takes out the inside. 3-How do I get a solid look when I flood fill a trasparent canvas? I can always see the squares.
I feel like I have come a long way in learning PSP but still have a very long ways to go to be satisfied with myself.. TIA

| Not quite sure on what you mean in #1 but you can set the layer opacity in the layer palette, located between 100 and normal and move that slider to the left and watch your image fade. In the Tool options-Flood Fill, make sure the Opacity is 100. ~Urlee~ |

| #2...I think this is what you want...if not, let us know. Vignette You can only do this on a Merged flattened Background layer (not raster or a duplicate)....last thing you do. You will have to decide how many pixels for Feather and how many to Contract, try 20 then go up or down from there. Selections > Select All > Selections Modify > Contract Edit/Clear/ The 'Background' color in the Material Color window will determine the color of the Vignette. You can also do this with the Lasso (Freehand) Tool instead of 'Select All' for an irregular shape. Joy |

| Joy that is everything I wanted (for now) but the flood fill is set at 100 opacity match mode a RGB value tolerance 100 blend mode normal Is anything set wrong for a solid fill? It is still very transparent. |
|
| Dar, match mode....None Also, be sure you don't have a Gradient in the Material window. Joy |
|
| Joy I don't see a NONE on the flood fill match mode. I am using PSP 7.04. I don't have a gradient selected unless that is what I want. Dar |
|
| Sugar, use the drop down arrow next to Match mode....

|
| Joy.. I was looking at blend mode.. That solved another problem. when I go to save work place it goes to note pad.. where should I save it? You have sure been a big help. THANKS, Dar |
|
| Dar, I think there is a folder in the PSP7 list of files called Workspace...save it there. If there isn't a folder, make a folder and save it in there, or, some where where you will know where it is, in case you need it. I don't think it should save on Notepad. This is the window that comes up....

| Dar, PSP has two great Help features...in case no one is here to help. Click at the very top of the program where it says 'Help'... The other 'Help' that is useful, is... Joy
