Carol, that is beautiful.

I think I am going to have to go on strike. My 3D life has gotten in the way of my PSPing. Not fair!

This is one I will definately try.

Paul, It sounds like you have a leaf hopper problem. I've been seeing them a lot lately too. They are the number one enemy of my coneflowers. I had one or two plants with that disease last year, but I immediately pulled them. I've learned to grow plants that leaf hoppers don't like around my coneflowers. I've been told to plant garlic, yarrow, mint, and alliums. Most of these look good with coneflowers too. I also spray and kill any leaf hoppers I see. I saw two tonight. They seem to attack at night so it's best to spray in the evening right before sunset. I hope you get it under control.

This is my FAVORITE vine! I have three of them! I bought two at Lowes and one at a garden shop. I have mine along my fence plus added lattice to the fence. They grow and grow and grow. Righ now, one is climbing to the top of my grapefruit tree and another up my elm (which I am okay with). My vines are in more of a shadier area and I had tons of blooms for an entire year. Then, the blooms have stopped. No blooms now for a few months. Anyone have any idea as to why and how I can get it blooming again? I threw bloom buster on it and it didn't do a thing. It had seemed to me that they didn't prefer baking in the sun. But, perhaps I am wrong? I have it mmixed in with a deep purple and white morning glory. Quite stunning when they are both blooming. One negative, do be careful where you put this vine. It does attract those biting, wood ants. Hummers seem to like the flowers as well.

S. farinacea and many of its selections are rated hardy to zone 7b. I'm slightly colder than you in zone 7a, so for me they winter over sometimes but not reliably. Most places sell farinacea cultivars as bedding plants, implying annual, but they're all perennial. I think relative winter hardiness may vary slightly between the species and different cultivars, but I don't know specifics about Cathedral Sky Blue.

Found this beauty at a local green house, it wasn't in bloom but had a tag with pictures of the flowers. It's currently in a container and I plan to repot in a larger pot with a trellis, because I don't think it will survive upstate New York winters outside, I'll bring it inside in the fall. It's been living on my front porch for a month and is now full of buds. Yesterday the first one opened.

Sue, what version of PSP did you use for this? You did a
real good job on this tut.

I used PSP7. Occasionally I use 8 if I need a certain tool that 7 hasn't got but I like version 7 so use it whenever possible.

It looks great Sue, I know what you mean, sometimes I spend more time looking for or making a tube for a tut it takes longer to do the prep work than the actual tut.

Great job Carol and Sue! Thanks for the link Carol. Know what ya mean about looking for the right tube for a tag, but I guess that's what happens when ya get tube happy like I have and download hundreds of them, or maybe getting into the thousands....lol
