Armadillos aren't interested in your brocolli or any other vegetable, although they will unintentionally uproot plants in their quest for worms and grubs. Sounds like your troublemakers are rabbits. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that you'll ever be able to coax a rabbit into a cage trap. Same goes for armadillos. At least I never have. That plastic owl might work for a while, but like every other non-lethal deterrent, the varmints will quickly get used to it and ignore it. As I've said before, the only answer is trapping and shooting. It took quite a bit of bloodletting, but I eventually "cleaned up Dodge City" around here.

Yep, NYC - soda Boston - tonic Chicago - pop It's right up there with ordering a sub/grinder/hero/hogie/wedge for lunch. Is that a real story? It looks so Photoshop to me. You sure it wasn't some Maine folks pulling a funny? There's some very creative folks in that state. If you've ever read the "do you have Lizzards" thread, it gives you a good sense of the sense of humor up there. It's good stuff.

Thanks Jannie but Holly is a little poopoo head. LOL Spoiled rotten and knows it. Since she can get up on the furniture she has become a real menace. I caught her on my table this afternoon, picking pine cones out of the basket, dropping them on the floor and eating my African Violet plants. Are African Violets poisonous to little short legged dogs? I hope the roads are good tomorrow too! I bought, at a thriftstore, a hunter green LEATHER recliner for...get this...twenty bucks. The store agreed to hold it for me until tomorrow. I HAVE to get to the city to pick up the chair and go to the seminar as well. The storm is suppose to hold out until late in the afternoon and I'm taking the truck...all will be well. Lori

Hmmmm, owned horses for 20 years---4-H, have had dogs my whole life except when in the Army, had cats, parakeets, tropical fish, white rats, lizards, rabbits, a raccoon, a opossum, and have fed birds on occasion. I am extremely realistic. I currently have two dogs, both mixed aggressive breeds---one of which I rescued from euthanasia----both of whom are stretched out by my feet as I type---tired from the afternoon session of work/exercise/play. They are a part of my family, but---they are dogs first, second, and always. They get treated like aggressive breed dogs, not like my grandchildren or my children. Shorty, the 20 year old chihuahua mix we just had to euthanize because of advanced cancer, was treated like a small noisy dog. Max, my 3 year old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix(the out of control rescued dog) is a watchdog. The daughter of the family who got rid of him is a friend of my oldest granddaughter and was here Sunday. She had not seen the dog in a year and a half. She could not get over how calm and behaved he is. They tried to treat Max like a person, thinking they were being good owners. Max had no idea how to be a dog---and that had him so confused and unbalanced he was dangerous. I've been an animal lover my entire life. However---people who insist animals have human characteristics are doing a disservice to the animal. Animals have to be treated as others of their kind would treat them to be complete animals. Treating an animal like a human creates unbalanced animals. Now, if the question were---"What has being associated with my animals taught me?----Oh, my, there are hundreds of answers. See my point?
