Not a dis...just different strokes for different folks...I enjoy and listen to a lot of ambient music and find it very soothing. If it's not your bag, that's fine. You certainly can meditate in silence. It's just that the guidance may help beginners get into a meditative state. I've also done meditations that include chanting out loud. I've not found them as helpful. I've also done kripalu yoga which they call meditation in motion, and while it's very nice, to me it's not as intense as a sitting meditation. If you check out meditation oasis podcasts, they do have some guided meditations without any music. Below is a link to a silent meditation where they ring a bell every 5 minutes for up to 30 minutes... Thanks for all your comments and nice words! The paint is called Wise Owl from Kelley Moore, a regional paint company. I think it's available here in Washington, in California, Texas and a couple other states. LOL natal. Yes, that's a window lock. All six windows are functioning, opening windows which is kind of silly. The one that is closest to the "bridge" can be opened but the others would require a ladder and a lot of bravery. I know the builder's guys enjoyed having them open during construction so they could have some cross ventilation but we won't be opening them any time soon. While I love the idea of spraying the windows, we definitely will not climb ladders as we both have a fear of heights. (Guess you missed the thread about our 17' high smoke detector when the batteries ran low. DH wanted to shoot it--and he's very anti-gun.) Needless to say we don't have a 30' extension ladder but it's a great suggestion for normal people. Squirrelheaven, I'll have to think about that idea some more. If the sheers won't cut down on light they might work. And they'll look nice from the outside too. As for the cost of the remote control thingy, I think if he wants it badly enough, he won't care how much it costs. We differ a lot on that point.

I have a work event - a ribbon cutting ceremony that will take place both outside and inside and where I will be in a "host" role. It is in August in Florida. Think really hot and really humid. I will have pre and post event responsibilities in addition to a speaking role and in many photo and video ops. I need to be cool and comfortable. I'm starting to stress about what to wear...let alone how to keep my hair from looking like a hot mess. I would typically wear a suit but my best suits are knits or a black tropical weight wool that is either dress/jacket or jacket/pants. None of these options are good. I have considered a white pant suit or a simple dress. Simple Dress I am 5'2" and curvy. Jackets need to be well cut and structured to work with my 34D chest. This group always rises to a fashion challenge so I hope you can help me with this one - thanks!

Anyone up for another fabric challenge?

Hi Threedogs, This is what I was considering, but am on the fence and open to any suggestions you might have. The fabric pictured above would be the primary print. I was considering a buffalo check or stripe (see below) but the print of the fabric is pretty big, not so sure how it would work. I really like your example, maybe a less wide solid border like that is the answer. I'd also want the valance to have more oomph or fullness like yours does. One of the windows is 58 inches wide, which is one of the reasons I'm having them made. Outside, I posted a pic above of what I'm considering. I have no other fabric in the room to coordinate with, but I am trying to find something that will work with our stone backsplash, which leans to the blue side. I like sage too or maybe even the coral but I worry that they will clash with the stone. The pics below are the same print in but in two different colors. The one without the coral has more teal in it and goes perfectly with the stone, but I like the one with coral because it has more life to it. I'll have one in the kitchen and a larger one in the dining room.

Zipper, I'm jealous.That is so great. I tried to get his foot tapping, ended up looking like his sneeker was just going up and down. See I really do need practice. Told you as soon as I posted the second time it would show. I kept getting a red x and when I checked properties it said not available. I guess Netscape was down or something. Sorry to hog up two posts.
