Tom, great pictures. All your plants always look so healthy and looking at some of your recent photos on your blogspot tells me that Spring in NC is not far off. One plant I wanted to ask you to identify that I didn't recognize. Looked almost like what we used to call a prayer plant but I thought they were always a house plant so that's probably not the name of your plant because it's planted outside.

Summer Breeze never made it onto my wish list before. A few more pictures like this might change my mind. Kathy

Saija, the waiting is agonizing - but late awakening of the hostas is still a good trade-off for having to do what Dave and Denis have done more than once already... taking precautionary measures so their beautiful plants remain just that - beautiful. If they are still asleep, they are safe. :) Snow and ice notwithstanding, that is a beautiful picture of your property! Things were so slow here but right now there is a lot more going on. We are expecting 25C on Thursday which is crazy. Expecting rain this morning and it is 8 right now. Trimmed dead stalks from the peonies yesterday, cleaned off dead leaves from hostas in the beds and dragged two yardbags to the curb this morning. Take heart, soon enough you will be busy in the garden again... we will all be posting pictures like crazy and this forum will be buzzing incessantly. It's a wonder we don't crash this site some days during late spring/summertime!!! Can't wait to see your spectacular spring display of hostas and tulips, and hostas and ligularias flanking your drive!
