PSP auto save

I am using PSP 9... latest one I have. I installed ThunderBird mail a couple days ago.. the next time I went in PSP the auto save stopped working & I get a popup that says "unable to open file" I don't know if it is ThunderBird or not but either way I don't have the save feature.. any ideas how to get it back & yes the save button is checked.. Please help.
