| Hi turboredcart, Sometimes new people come on here and, not taking any time to get acquainted, immediately post something that's a business system, almost always self-serving, and often proposing to make participants very rich. Frequently almost overnight, and quite often with very little effort. Probably in too much of a hurry to stick around, for they have to post their message on a few score/hundreds of other locations. Whether or not they might be relevant there, either. Hasn't happened much for a while, but a fresh example appeared a couple of days ago, someone all fired up, using capital letters everywhere, a lot of exclamation marks, etc. As you know, the Internet is littered with spam ... it's very pervasive and penetrates into every little niche. Which is not kosher here. The culture here is rather laid back and friendly - somewhat different than that to which a number of people have been accustomed. When such a proposal appears, the participants get upset, fearing that the interpersonal and community interest of the place is threatened. When it's reported, the thread/post is deleted, for this place is not for businesss promotions (other than by the owners of the system, of course). But they do their promotions on the periphery, not on the threads - don't interfere, so to speak. So - stick around for a while, familiarize yourself with the community, rather than getting your turbocharged cart before your horse. You'll find some kind, wise, generous people and will learn quite a lot, I expect - and find some good friends, I think. Quite likely you'll have some useful suggestions to offer, as well. It often helps if folks choose to tell something about themselves on their profile. But a number choose not to do so, which is their privilege, of course. Good wishes to you and yours. joyful guy/ole joyful/o j |
