| Hi, this is my first post to your board; I'm usually in Home Dec.
I'm pretty good at shopping around for phone and cable rates, but this is a new one on me. I received a an offer today from IGS Energy. They want to sell me the gas I use for heating/AC and hot water. I haven't researched yet. I assume that they offer a fixed rate, where Commonwealth Edison, the big default supplier, floats with the market. I'll have to look at my usage history. What else do I need to know? Thanks for any insights you can offer. |

| Find out what other charges they apply to your bill. Frankly, the amount of natural gas I use is almost secondary to the various fees -- basic charges, cost adjustments, environmental surcharges, etc. -- imposed on the account. You might also check out whether there's a cost to disconnect from Com Ed and go with IGS. |

| I got a notice from IGS and they said it was cheaper. I looked at my regular gas bill and the introductory price was cheaper from IGS but the regular price was more. What good is that. |
