Comments (6)Hi there, graywings, actually, I didn't, since I was too busy printing out the main page, as well as busy with a handyman doing odd jobs around here. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, and for the suggestion! I was going to try Arm & Hammer +Oxi Scum-Spray (just purchased) as well as . I noted that the scum-spray barely made a dent on my own sinks & tub, and I detest the heavy lemongrassy odor So now i'm thinking either the scum spray done outside with suction cups facing up, then tons of water dumped on it to rid the smell. Then next attempt: a crystal burst pak inside a painters pail (anything taller??) with water added. Then roll up the bathmat & dunk inside for awhile, followed by flipping the roll over for treatment on the other side, due to shortness of pail. Then next attempt: A vinegar/water solution inside spray bottle (what ratio? OR: Bleach solution inside painters pail? The aforesaid article stating boric-acid is too hard for me. I want to try simpler first. BTW, thanks again - you're amazing - so often coming to the rescue!...See MoreCan you dye bath rugs?
Comments (8)DM just dyed her bath towels and bath rug a beautiful deep purple. She used Rit Dye and they came out great. I mean they look brand spanking new. In fact, some of the bath towels she dyed were decorative towels that had some lacey trim and the lace came up a teeny bit lighter which looks so nice on the deep purple. golddust - why not Rit? Geez, I hope she's not made some major mistake that she can't undo? DM's towels and bath mat were pale yellow and she wanted to change things up a bit. Had the Rit in the house and used it....See MoreWhat do you use for bath rugs?
Comments (14)i have a wool area rug in front of my tub and then a plain one in chocolate brown that goes well withthe colors in front of my vanity. I have a few of the hotel style thick bath mats that get washed a few times a week foor when we bathe that get put down in fron of the shower or over the wool rug to step on. they get put over the side of the tub or towel bar to dry. They have them at Target for a decent price. My kids use their hand towels. We always have a surplus of them for some reason? I think it is because they wear less than bath and washcloths. ? I don't know why?...See MoreAre Bath Mats / Bath Rugs 'out'? PB? RH
Comments (52)Okay, I've never liked anything that *looks like* bathroom or kitchen rugs. That doesn't mean I don't like a rug in the bathroom though - I just want something pretty and decorative. I also don't like the fact that many bathroom rugs, people step out of the shower/tub wet on the rugs and then they sit there damp. I use a long oriental type rug in front of the double vanity. Nothing un front of the tub or shower. What we do is use the bath mats (like a thick towel) and lay those over the side of the tub when finished. They dry out quickly and are laundered often. That said, I'm certainly not saying what is in or out of style or what someone should do, just the personal preference around our house LOL. tina...See Moremikie_gw
