I have gotten Sunset magazine off and on through the years, and I know it's not solely a garden magazine, but I enjoy their gardening articles. It's nice that it also has info on travel and cooking. But Sunset's focus is the West, so if you're east of the Rockies, it's not great for you. I also received Fine Gardening for a year, and I did like it, but I didn't like the price. With Sunset, I usually take a break from subscribing until they send me the $12/year offer, and then I resubscribe. I got an email from Taunton Press recently, which publishes Fine Gardening, and they have a special publication I'm interested in. It's called Great Gardens, and it's a soft-cover (magazine-style, I think) publication that has photos from the nation's "top 12" gardens and instruction on how to emulate them. Bulldinkie, I also use coupons, but I don't find very many for things I use. I don't used canned soups, cake mix, frozen convenience items, etc. However, I do use coupons for things like Cheerios (one of Cooper's favorite snacks), laundry soap, some cleaning supplies, etc. I'm not brand loyal at all so if I need laundry soap, something is on sale and I have a coupon, that's what I get. However, with the internet it's really easy to find what I want and print it out, usually. My local small grocery still doubles coupons on Wednesdays too. Annie

I love it!! I've been Postcrossing since early 2011. I've sent over 400 cards and gotten just as many. It is a great hobby, I can share a part of my world with others and also learn about other parts of the world. I've gotten postcards from France, Germany, Japan, China, Russia, Pakistan, the USA, Netherlands, Finland, Australia and many, many more countries. The stamps are always interesting to see, the postcards can be beautiful scenery or pretty flowers or a holiday postcard and the messages from people around the world are great to read. Yes, there is a garden club around here, and no, I am not a member. Years ago my husband and I visited Hortico nursery to see and ask about English roses. The people at the nursery sent us to the rose fields around the corner: "The boss is doing a tour for a garden club, just follow them". We found them and trailed around behind them. When all members had asked their questions, at the very end, I asked whether they had a particular rose growing there. Bill sent us to the end of the field, so we went over to look, careful to stay on the little path. As we were coming back, one of the club members came over and bossily told us that we were not supposed to stray. When I explained that the owner had allowed us to take a look there, he was still not pleased. We got back to the nursery, and in the shade there was a table with lemonade and glasses, and a stack of catalogues, enough for three times the number of people present. I was looking around for a cool spot on that hot day, not taking anything, when one of the ladies came up to us and told us curtly that the lemonade and catalogues were for members only. After that show of hospitality I decided that at least that garden club was not for me ;-).
