I want to remove the very stuck-on labels from plastic medicine bottles in order to donate them to a clinic. Does anyone know how to remove them?

The trick is heating the glue. I fill them with boiling water and then soak the full bottle in hot water.That usually loosens most of the label. Then I throw it in the dishwasher.I always have to retrieve the rest of the label from the bottom of the dishwasher, but this method works. For small price tag labels use oil, dusting polish or GOO B Gone to dissolve the sticky label. Good luck, Sandy

Heat from a hair dryer will remove most sticky things but I prefer to use goo gone - it works wonders!

My technique is to boil water and pour into the bottles (I originally thought I would need to soak in boiling water but surprisingly the "just pour in" technique works). Then wait like 1/2 hour to cool down, just long enough so you can touch it. If you're lucky the labels will peel off. If not, you might have to then use some kind of combination of googone and scraping with a razor blade. But I've had pretty good luck peeling on the pretty blue bottles.

To get yellow stain out of linens - here is a trick I use. Wait for the spring grass to turn green but not yet cut (it should be a bit high). On a very bright sunny day put lemon juice on the stains, set them out on the green grass in the sunshine and wait. It has worked wonders on many a difficult stain. There is also a product on the Internet that professes to do the same thing.

If it is glass, you could also try putting very hot water into the glass jar...that will remove those really sticky type labels. I like to reuse bottles and jars also. I buy those big containers of nuts at Sam's Club and the label comes off with the hot water trick but you can't get it too hot or the container will melt (ask me how I know!). Then you can remove the rest of the sticky glue with goo gone or even oil will work.
