Most places I've seen make it a limit of one item though on the adjustment. Joyful, I know you enjoy playing with the store people to get a rise, but methinks you overestimate your power a bit. I don't see that you'd hold up a line while you go to check. Most stores here, and any store I managed, would simply void the sale, put the items aside and take the next customer. Interrupting another cashier to try to stop them from waiting on their customers? Uh, how would YOU feel if someone said quit waiting on joyful, I want to complain to you. As a cashier they'd likely refer you to customer service and a good cashier wouldn't miss more than a beat or two. If you got TOO beligerant that would be handled too. The claim that a sign is "false" of course is difficult to prove. Especially on a pricing mistake. There was a local store however who got caught with false claims. They were selling choice beef represented as Angus. Caught several times but nothing done. False advertising requires proof that there was willful intent to mislead. A mistake doesn't meet that proof burden. I've been on both sides of the retail situation. I've seen questionable signs, or more appropriately termed confusing signs and people scream false advertising and demand compensation even though the sign, albeit confusing, did say what the store said it did. I've been in situations where I've questioned prices, signs and the like, but I'm probably a lot more compassionate than many since I know what it's like to be in the other persons' shoes. You don't go lecturing cashiers to change store policy. That's assinine. You don't ask a cashier to do what is only allowed of management or possibly corporate. Yelling at a cashier in any circumstance is deplorable. Any customer in my stores who got rude with a cashier of mine got a nice little lecture on etiquette before I'd even listen to their complaint. After I made it clear to them that there's channels to go through, and usually they acknowledged their mistake we could proceed to their concern. I kicked one guy out of my store under threat, er warning that if he didn't leave I'd call the police. Nobody puts a 17 year old cashier of mine into tears and gets away with it. The one store I worked at had a policy of a free purchase if we didn't offer a receipt. Plus there was a red star printed on the receipt paper and they'd win something if they got one. What stunts people would try! It was entertaining. And they'd try it over and over! And of course they'd threaten to do this and that and more. It really was entertaining. Push in front of someone and leave, throw the money on the counter and leave, then come back and claim they didn't get their receipt. I'm still waiting to hear back from all the attorneys who were going to be contacted! If people went in and worked in retail a while, they'd understand that it's a bigger job than most think. And there's not the profit margins on everything that many people think either. And one thing that IS false advertising is "the customer is always right". If it were true, stores couldn't stay in business because too many customers feel they should get everything for free, reduced price, buy one get 10 free and of course everything should come with a lifetime guarantee and double your money back if you don't use it in 10 years. Back to my point, constantly changing prices aren't the easiest to deal with. And people rearranging price tags isn't easy to deal with. And there's a certain number trying to play games, and cause trouble in stores too. Scanners helped with the price tag switchers on products but not for the shelf tag switchers. And of course there's people who drop things back onto a shelf or in a cooler and people scream they found it there, so they should get it for free. Well, that doesn't work that way either. Most all stores here let you watch the items being scanned and I can see if a price is wrong. That's good. Happy shopping all. Keep your cool. You'll generally get better results. I try to and I am doing one today. I purchased one of the excellent otterbox cases for my husbands cell phone when we got our new smart phones in June. That case is about the best you can get and it came with a holster that clips onto the belt so he can wear it on his hip. They are not cheap it cost over $50. Last night his holster just fell off his belt, the plastic pin that holds the clipper thing onto the holster had sheared off and there was no way to fix it. He was really upset because he hates to carry things in his pocket and this is a big phone. I called their customer service number today, after a very short wait I spoke to a very nice young lady, told her what had happened and she said oh no well lets get him a new one out right away! I did not have to prove anything just give her my address and she immediately put an order out for a replacement. That kind of customer service will get much praise from me and I will most definitely recommend them highly. I would recommend the otterbox cases anyway they are such great products. I like to let them know when I have great service as well as when it is poor. In fact I think I do more for great service in compliments than I do complaints. So if anyone is looking for a protective case for their phone consider otterbox! LOL OtterBox oh they also have cases for ipad and some tablets I did not know that!!

The answer to this is "It depends on several factors." There is no one answer that fits all situations. First off, it depends on the system: Is it forced air, or gravity heat ducts? Where are the cold air returns? Maybe its a hot water system with several zones. What about heated floors with no air ducts? The remarks below are restricted to forced air systems, one of the most popular systems for houses built in the last 50 years. If there are plenty of cold air returns, the air flow to one room can be reduced without upsetting the system very much. The main problem in shutting off too many outlets is causing a reduced air flow in the heated bonnet of the furnace and this reduces furnace efficiency, e.g., more heat escapes up the chimney. Also, the bonnet will run hotter. If the bonnet gets too hot, the overheat safety control will trip and shut down the flame. before the rest of the house comes up to temperature. Under those conditions, the thermostat will continue to call for heat and the furnace will kick in again after the overheat switch cools. This is a bad way to operate the furnace. It causes the overheat switch to cycle many times and it was not designed for that sort of service. The overheat switch should operate only for emergency conditions. In my house, the first floor is an open concept and has 2 large air returns at floor level, one in each end of the house. Neither of these 2 returns should ever be blocked. The upper floor has 4 bedrooms and a bath. Each bedroom has a high wall return. There is no return in the bathroom. Both doors to the bathroom have air reliefs by having the bottoms of the doors clear the floor by at about an inch. If carpeting is installed outside the doors that blocks this relief, then the bottoms of the doors are supposed to shortened to restore these air slots. With this arrangement, the door to one of the bedrooms can be closed and hot air flow reduced to run the room cooler without causing much upset to the overall system. The most effective heat loss reduction is adding attic insulation if there is less than R18 of insulation and sealing interior air leaks into the attic.
