Stopped doubling coupons!

| At the checkout lane of Meijer today, I handed my coupons to the clerk. As she checked me out she noted that starting today, they are no longer doubling coupons. AHHhh! They were the only grocery in town that doubled at all (up to 0.50). Now no stores double. I'm getting tempted to try driving across town to check out how the prices compare at the Super WalMart.
My MIL says Kroger still doubles up to $1 in her town. Any other groceries still doing the doubling? |

| Rainbow Foods has one day a month that they double 5 coupons per customer up to $1 each. |

| Wegmans and Tops do also. There is no limit on the number of coupons they double (that I am aware of) and they both double coupons up to 1 dollar. |

| sspye- I'm in SW MI and Meijer said that Sun 18th was the 1st day of no doubling. Maybe I need to try another Meijer. |

| hmmmm, miscindy, now I'll have to call and check before I go to my Meijer. The last time I was in was Saturday the 17th. I go to the Meijer's in Southgate and Woodhaven. |

| I also shop at Meijer in SE Michigan -- I did not know they were discontinuing doubling. Frankly, I don't think Meijer is all that much cheaper than Kroger anyway. |

| KMart rotates their sales. Mine hasn't doubled/tripled in a few weeks...awaiting their next sale. Some of you may like checking out this FREE grocery site. www.couponmom.com It's like the pay service, only free. |

I used couponmom.com sometimes. It's a good website. Shows how to use sales and coupons together and pulls the sales from your local stores and tells you which items currently have coupons and the source. |

| I just checked my Meijer ad in todays paper. At the bottom it says they will double .50 and below. I live in Central Indiana. All of our stores here double. Meijer would loose alot of business if they stopped. Susie |

| I don't really use coupons because I buy mostly store brands. But I can say that Walmart seems to be the best prices around.... Well that and Aldi's.... momma~bird |

| K-Mart does the double coupon thing sometimes. They even double $1.00 coupons! I save all my coupons for then. They don't carry everything, but we save a lot on stuff we buy. |

| I can't think of any stores other then the now defunct Phar Mor stores that ever took coupons in Chicagoland. But, some stores like Food 4 Less - which is a Kroger owned store - take expired coupons regardless of date! I have some from 2006 that I am still using there. Stinks about them not taking double coupons but maybe call up some of the chains in your area and see if they take the expireds. |

| i've always shopped at Meijers as they have fantastic prices and give you coupons..however..our Miejers has never doubled coupons.. i have found however, that coupons generally cause me to buy things that are PREMADE..which generally is NOT a savings..or to buy name brands over store brands..which also generally doesn't save much.. sometimes i think we are better off not even getting the coupons..unless they are store coupons on store brands..our meijers actually gives us coupons on items that we have bought, like if i buy one item, i'll get a coupon on the same item for the next purchas. also consumers reports now says that the best coffee in the world is 8 oclock coffee which is fairly inexpensive if anyone wants to know..i don't drink coffee, but why buy costlier coffee to get a good flavor if plain old 8 oclock coffee was rated the best? |

| Whoops - forgot to mention that KMart only doubles coupons on specific dates. The dates are announced in weekly ads. |

| We haven't had double coupons in my area of N. CA in years. I usually don't bother cutting them out unless it is a product that I will use any way. |

| when our Kmart doubles- they double up to and include $2 coupons! Ours was two weeks ago and I saved a lot. One of our local stores doubles up to a dollar. I always call or ask the ervice desk before I do a big shop. Sometimes the employees don't even know store policy. |
