Even if you seal up all of the cracks, I would be surprised if the small amount of circulation couldn't occur through things like: * The drainage system * Between panes of closed vents * Through the zipper or doorframe. The moisture beads on the glazing and runs down to the floor; it's like a jungle in there (when I wear glasses, it's instant fogging when I walk in). I haven't grown any plants that are sensitive to moisture-related diseases before, but I've got some in the seedling stage right now, so we'll see if they complain. They're doing quite beautifully so far (I could get pictures if you like), but moisture-loving diseases like powdery mildew take some time to get established. I'll get back to you about them in a month or so and let you know how they compare to the equivalent plants grown outside this summer. [quote]stressbaby, Gladly. Mercaptans are only in PPM quantities to begin with, so if you're having measurable amounts *after* combustion, something is seriously wrong there. Decaying plant matter is an especially bad ethylene producer, but even healthy plants produce it (some species more than others). Last night for dinner, I had pasta primavera made using some of my "suffering" tomatoes. My point? A proper installation doesn't have problems. An improper installation does. Notice how you haven't gotten into the risks of the other common hobby greenhouse heating system, electric. You know, a box of resistors with large amounts of current flowing through it, in a moist environment that usually has a metal frame, and plenty of combustables within, possibly even standing water? I read the "suffering from propane" thread before I got my heater. I read enough from elsewhere to realize that this person had an improper installation. Notice -- it only took a few days of use of their heater for problems to occur. Mine has been running for two months this winter. Note what was mentioned in the thread: "Sometimes the smell is very strong." Huge red flag right there. Properly combusted propane/natural gas has no smell. The instant they smelled it, they should have disconnected the heater -- it sounds like a leak. Note what others said in the comments trail, such as Orchiddude and trigger_m (who also provided pictures). A couple of thoughts: - the bank probably is not counting that third rental income because you don't have it. Renting is speculative. I don't know what the rental market is like on LI anymore, but around here it is not uncommon to see "For rent" signs on apartment buildings for months on end. There also are the expenses incurred as a landlord -- it's not all an income stream and that's why the bank discounts the income. - another bank (a smaller, hungrier one) or even a credit union (if you can belong to one) might be a better bet for your business. - a bridge loan might work for you; it would go on the equity you now have in your properties and carry you until the rental income is a reality.

High velo will heat. I like my 7 mini-splits very much (Three outdoor units). Look up some posts in this forum for more info. They are not cheap, but very efficient (no duct loses) and the inherent zoning can save you money by not conditioning the rooms when you are not in them. They also throttle well as the room approaches your desired temp. Necessary lines and cables should be able to be run in the walls. (Mine were run in interior walls,but I am single-story.) You will probably not get an outdoor unit for each room, but cluster them. That means running lines horizontally as well and that might mean in your basement or around the foundation. That is something to discuss with your installer. Finding an experienced installer might be a problem. If you don't like the high-wall units, consider the mini-split options with short duct runs if you have a place to tuck a small air handler or two. Ceiling cassettes are an option too. You might like the wired controls for those better than the remotes. They will cost more than high-wall. Look at Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Sanyo and Daikin web sites for a view of what is available.

The person who obtained the home loan was my SIL. No child support and thats a fact. Her ex doesn't even have a job and has 4 other kids to support. I'm curious because my sister and BIL have been trying to buy a house and they have two incomes (but no children) and make A LOT more money than my SIL and they have decent (but not excellent) credit and they don't have a huge downpayment (have about 5-10% depending on the purchase price) and they haven't been able to get a loan. They've tried USDA (they qualify for the guaranteed home loan program but not the other than assists with a downpayment). So it just blows my mind that someone who makes $9 hr could get a loan for that much money. I'm predicting it will be another foreclosure in the next few years. I don't see how she will be able to afford the monthly payments (she was telling us that when she was first approved the bank told her the payments would be around $400 mth. But there is NO way they will be that low when you add in property taxes, insurance etc.
