Believe it or not, the Pharmaceutical companies are actually doing something for Medicare enrollees. I know it is to head off the chance of the government insisting on reduction of prices, but shoot, it's going to help,

They have gotten together and formed a plan that greatly reduces the cost of a lot of drugs usually used by the Medicare Crowd. My pharmacist told me about it this morning. She is allerting all her Medicare customers.

When I say "reduces" I mean I will get on Rx that is costing me 118.00 for only 15.00. There are about 150 drugs covered. And your doctor may be willing to change you to one of them.

You have to meet certain requirments.

1. be on Medicare

2. have no other drug insurance, private or public

3. earn no more that 38,000 for a couple or 28,000 for a single. ( it's more if you live in Alaska or Hawaii)

Once again I got absorbed in a link and forgot to come back and post. I read this the other day and really like the idea and am going to participate. It does help a bit that the weather has been a bit nicer to sit out with the binoculars [once I found them]. I really like how the list has links to each bird that includes their song. That helped me decide between a couple of the birds I see on a regular basis. Thanks Suzy. It might snow a bit tomorrow and actually that does also bring out some birds I might not see otherwise.

Most of my digging is less than 12" ----- where the engineer specs placement ... how deep ... and where the installer puts it ... ARE TWO DIFFERENT ISSUES .... when you call ... tell them the purpose of knowing.. so they can give you some idea of depth ... short of digging it up.. no one really knows.. but they can tell you whether its 12 inches or 3 feet ... a call to your electric provider will get you a referral ... ken

I agree that you shouldn't "settle" for something that you really don't want . . . just because it's free. I know that in planning my house I have certain "must haves" chosen, and they are 100% non-negotiable, but other things don't matter so much, and I'd reconsider my first choice . . . if something free came along. I would very much appreciate a friend offering me the choice! I'd make two suggestions: - When you refuse something, do so in the absolute most kind way: "Thank you so, so much for thinking of me. I've appreciated your other cast-offs so very much, and I can't wait to see them in use. You've been so very helpful with my project. But I'm really set on ___ for that particular item. I do hope someone else can use these things, and again it was so very kind of you to remember me." You don't want to close down future potential gifts by being too abrupt, and a simple, "Only if it's soapstone" might've been seen as ungrateful. I'm not saying you were wrong at all -- just perhaps a little brusk in the delivery. - Second, before you turn down stone (I assume nice stone), do consider ALL your needs -- not just your main kitchen countertops. Could that stone be used for a bathroom vanity? A coffee table topper? An outdoor kitchen or bar?

All of this recent fuss about quite a few U.S. people getting their prescription drugs at much lower cost in Canada, including having them shipped from Canadian suppliers or coming by the carload, even busload from nearby U.S. states ...

... is going to mean that soon Canadians are going to be paying more for their drugs, you can bet.

The drug companies, of whom there are not a large number, are not going to allow this situation to continue untended.

There's a major move afoot in Canada to place really heavy restrictions on homeopathic materials, as well.

Can't have others horning in on turf that we've staked out for ourselves, now, can we?

I work in an elderly highrise as a social worker and have many of my residents signed up for FREE meds thru NeedyMeds.com. It is well worth checking out and applying.
