| I felt a cold draft coming in from the new range hood, so I had a backdraft damper installed in the duct right on top of the range hood.
Now on windy days, I can hear the damper opening and dropping spontaneously. Seems like there is a reverse backdraft sucking the damper open and then dropping the flap closed again. Is there a fix for this? |

| what does the end of the vent look like? If it's just an open tube, it's possible that wind could create suction on the vent which may cause the flapper to lift and then fall. A fix might be to put a hat or some other end treatment on the vent at the exterior. |
