| My g-door remote openers won't open doors when weather get about 40 degrees and below. I've put in new batteries, made sure the control's remote wire is fully extended, but nothing. When it gets warmer out again they work fine. opener is about 12 years old craftsman model 139.53970SRT |

| Some electronic components change value with temperature changes and a part in your receiver has done this. The receiver is built into the logic board and is fairly expensive. Due to the age your best bet is a new opener. You can get the part number of the logic board off the motor unit. It is near where all those white wires go and starts with 41A. You can then go to Sears parts and check the price. |
