Craftsman GDO - led blinks 5 times

Hi,
I hope Don or another seasoned tech can help. I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP GDO model 139.53662SRT that was purchased and installed in 1997. Three days ago it stopped in the up position. When I push any remote (car, keypad, or even wired pushpad), the unit clicks and then the LED (not the light bulb) flashes 5 times. I tried unplugging the unit for two minutes. I also made sure the Safety Reversing Sensors were aligned. Is the unit getting to the end of it's useful life, or is it worth repairing?

Most probably the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. Remove the bolt and then the door will close. While it is closed find the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and using a small screwdriver turn this 3 or 4 turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Be sure to replace the bolt and you should be set.
