I have a whirlpool front load washer. Model wfw9400s

I washed clothes on monday using powder, but had the machine set to liquid by accident. All the powder could not fit through the small opening for liquid. This caused the soap that did not dispense to get gummy in the tray and there was a white line of the goop that had dripped down from where the water and soap releases in the washer tub. So the next day i ran the "clean washer" cycle and my machine flooded the floor and there were also bubbles coming out of the back vent of the machine. you are not supposed to have detergent in it while the "clean" cycle is running.
I should have removed the goopy wet powder from the day before.

My floor is now ruined.

But i ran a small load last night and it did not leak.

Did the excess of the powder soap cause the machine to flood?
Since it did not leak or overflow last night does that mean it is not broken?

I have a repair guy coming later today, i an just looking for opinions.
