You need to read the policy. Generally, if you have replacement value insurance they will cover the entire cost.

Just one thing to add. Nt sure if you were just wondering how it works... We had a hailstorm and it put the nail in the coffin of our too-old roof.

We did not go with the storm chasers who plagued our neighborhood. Dh went up and saw the damage, then we called the insurance to get an adjuster out. He ran all the numbers with us and we vetted a contractor of our choosing. The whole process went incredibly well and was pretty efficient, except for me taking about 6 months to pick out shingles ;)
