home repair insurance?

sorry cross posting from another forum ....
home repair insurance? who has it? is it worth it?
in light of a recent boiler issue where we had to replace parts on our 25 year old steam boiler - hubby and I were wondering if we should get boiler insurance where service visits and certain repairs are covered just in case the next disaster is just around the corner...does anyone have any experience good or bad with homeserve or petro ? or any other company that offers insurance for residential home repairs for that matter ?

Yep. Those companies are in the business of making money, lots of it - not paying your repair bills.

This is easy - do you think that the insurance company is really going to pay for 25 year old boiler? These people are 'masters' at writing contracts - they will screw you.

And that is their intent. They are preying on your fears and vulnerabilities. They know it. They don't care. Otherwise known as crooks.
