The roof is 16 years old. Looking streaky and dirty. Can this be cleaned? Who do you call to clean a roof? Thanks

A lot of folks who pressure wash also clean roofs, but do not hire someone to pressure wash your roof!! I am of the opinion that as long as debris is kept off the roof cleaning will not add to the life of a shingle roof and much damage can be done by a numbskull. The best cleaning is done with gently sprayed chemicals and a gentle rinse, NO PRESSURE ON THE SHINGLES.

What kind of roof do you have: Composition? Cedar? Metal? What?

Do not call a roofing company---they will want to sell you a new roof. Check your yellow pages for a "Roof Cleaning Company" not "Pressure Washing Companies". Pressure Washers will beat your roof to death!!! My DH has a roof cleaning business and he handles the roofs with much care. You have algae and possibly lichens on your roof. It is very unsightly and could do damage to your shingles.
