when weatherstripping gets old...

We have a Therma-Tru steel entry door from the 90s, and I've noticed that it's not fitting flush with the rubber weatherstrips at the top and lock side. Does age and/or sun make the rubber shrink away from the door? I'd say there's about a 1/4 inch gap.

Not necessarily, however, your lock strike can wear and get out of adjustment.
