drywall garage ceiling without vents

A neighbor just bought herself a house. The garage is a flat roof. She wants to dry wall the ceiling. I indicated, that it needs some kind of airflow.
She already bought 5/8. I also indicated it may put a damper on future upgrades. I guess I am looking for third party comments.

I'm not sure I follow your question. You don't say how the ceiling will be hung, what the construction of the flat roof is, or why the owner feels the need for a ceiling in a garage in the first place.
