Chain saw repair

I have a 6.5 Hp sears chainsaw. Starts fine, but after using the saw for a while when I go to engage the saw in cutting and the blade will stop rotating. The saw does appear to have a clutch on the drive shaft. Does the clutch need replacing or is there another problem? The engine continues to run, but will not turn the blade.

Take the saw to a repair facility. There are several things that could be wrong and you have not given enough information to accurately diagnose the problem.

Mae sure you get an estimate for repairs.

Sears saws have not been high quality in a VERY long time.

Some repairers won't touch them. They are hard to work on and cheaper to replace. Parts are a problem too.
