Hi all -- just starting to do some research for re-roofing my house. It will be a tear-down as there are already 2 layers. I know the three big companies, CertainTeed, GAF and Owens Corning -- they all make premium tiles -- I was comparing the GAF Timberline Ultra HD with the CertainTeed Landmark Premium, among others. Just wanted to see if anyone had some general advice as to what to look for, weights of tiles, wind resistance, etc. Any good or bad experiences you'd like to share would be appreciated. Thanks much! |

| I think roof tiles can give you a 50-year guarantee against warping, cracking, leakage and damage by salt and frost. In addition, terracotta tiles are also guaranteed to be colour fast for 50 years. The leading alternative roofing material is guaranteed against corrosion for up to 30 years and only up to 20 years. |
