Composite shoemold - difficult to work?

I am helping out a firend who has installed Brazilian cherry hardwood floors. Paid a lot of $$$ for the job. However, the flooring guys installed pine shoe mold that doesn't look so good. Of course, the company is not around any longer and I am gong to replace the shomold. The shoemold that she purchased is a composite, prestained, comes in 8 foot lengths. should I be concerned about anything here? I thought she is being cheap going with great wood floors then composite shoemold. Maybe I am wrong? any problem cutting this stuff? staing end pieces? making returns?

thanks
