Removing a balcony deck -cost?

Hi,

We are getting estimates to remove a balcony deck on the second floor of our new house. (It's rotting and on cantilevers.)

The first estimate has come in and I was looking to get some feedback. I'm in Massachusetts on the coast and was wondering if 4,200-4,500 sounds reasonable to people? It would include:

Removing the deck.
Cutting the beams back.
Patching in with new siding and new roof edge trim.
Installing a new rail at the window for safety.
Estimate includes all labor, materials, dump fees and painting.

Thoughts?

Too many local factors for me to offer an opinion. Just be sure to get more than one bid (preferably three or more) and compare, not just the price, but also how confident they make you feel about the quality of their work.
Did you get any referrals from satisfied friends or neighbors?

What is the square footage of the existing deck?
