Chimney box made of cedar siding. Wasp nest possibly inside, unexcessible from outside. Exterminator came and dusted inside thru a hole in the caulking (hopefully killing) any possible wasps in that crevice. They did not open it up to visually see or remove nest in inside.

If that were to be done I have to hire someone to remove the cedar plankings to see if there is a nest in there and remove which could be costly.

vs.

Just sealing the hole with caulk and leaving possible dead nest inside.

Do you think its neccessary to take apart chimney box to get at a dead nest?
