Those are "nail pops", when drying and temp changes act to drive the drywall nail back out of the wood framing. Generally, you have to fix and repaint. I usually drive another nail ( a ring-shank masonite nail) so the heads overlap; the new nail holds in the old one.

In a professional installation drywall would not be attached to the ceiling within a foot of a wall. The wall board would be pushed up to trap the ceiling board so the ceiling board could move without causing finish problems.

Just remove the nails and patch the holes.
