Dimmable CFL lights dont dim so good

I have replaced a bunch of canned light bulbs with new CFL dimmable ones. But, they dont dim so well. They will dim a bit but then just go out. At $6 each, I am bringing them back but my question is 'should these have worked better'? or is the dimmable CFL still being developed? thanks

Sounds about right for any type of florescent dimming.

It has a very small range.
