Craftsman Garage Door Opener Problems

My Sears Craftsman GDO stop working after a thunder and lightning storm. When the remote or key pad is activated it will blink on and immediately off. The GDO motor does not turn on at all. Is there a way to reset my Craftsman GDO Genie Excelerator. I was informed I may need a logic board that cost $109.00. It would be cheaper to buy a new GDO if this is the case. Once again is there a way to reset my GDO?
