New storm door does not meet threshold

What are solutions to fill this very large gap so there is an air tight seal when the glass door us shut?
It does not appear that the door frame would allow the door to be installed close enough for a tight fit.

Modifying the storm door is not practical. Modifying the adjoining surfaces to fit up to the door is the practical solution.

Could you notch the bottom of the storm door frame so it can move in closer to the threshold?

You can have the threshold replaced with a deeper one. (Use a door installer rather than any "generalist".)

Add a piece of square stock to fill the space, approx., then install a threshold extension and adjust to fit.

Did you investigate a foam weatherstrip that is tall enough to fill the gap?

Try to find out who made/hung the door and ask them for a sill extender.
