Sliding Glass Doors -Masterpiece, Masonite

Hi,

Our sliding glass door to our deck has died and we'd like to replace it (not ourselves, we're getting someone to do it), but we can pick the door ourselves.

I like our house, but it's very cheaply built and I'm not inclined to spend a lot of on the replacement door. Does anyone have any experience with Masonite or Masterpiece brands which seem to be the "cheapie" offerings at Home Depot? Jeld-Wen? The Anderson 200 series?

One difficulty is that the exterior of our home has windows and doors with brown frames (I think that's the correct term, not the framing, but the actual color of the metal holding the glass in place) so the sliding door needs to also have a brown frame. It kind of looks to me like we may spend a bit more to have that happen? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

no direct experience. Have you tried a web search for "product reviews" on each manufacturer?
