| My two are now about 7 years old, operated perhaps 3 open-close cycles per day or less. Getting a bit more noisy. The book says lube not necessary on the operator, only on the moving parts of the door. I recall that the screw did show lube on it new. The traveling "nut" looked like plastic. One just waits until it wears out? Anyone relubed the screw on theirs? |

| I am always reluctant to put a liquid lube or grease on an open screw drive because the lube material will catch dust and debris from the air and ultimately make the surface rougher. As an alternative I rub the screw with a bar of soap while its turning. The soap will make a dry lube that doesn't collect dirt. |
