How do I stop water from leaking into the garage

Every time it rains, water leaks into my garage through the two garage doors. The problem is that the floor is level with the driveway outside, with no slope and no step. How do I fix this? The yard slopes downwards from the driveway so if I can just get the water away from the garage it will runoff down the yard. I've heard that someone could cut grooves into the concrete floor to create a downhill water path, but I don't know whether this is a good solution, and I don't know what kind of company would do this. Any advice?

I ran across a similar situation this past fall, a 2 car garage - brand new.
First I checked to see that the doors were properly and tightly weatherstriped. They weren't. So repaired that.
Checked the inside garage floor and it was level - no pitch and at the same height as the outside driveway.
To correct the problem, we cut in a drain across the front of the garage, running the full width of the driveway from left to right and added a lenght of perforated pipe into the yard for drainage. That solved the problem.
Your local mason should be able to best advise you best by a visual inspection. Call one.

On second thought, those thresholds i referred might make matters worse if it causes a "dam" effect where water would pool in front of the doors.

As usual, porch guy has an excellent solution.

Ardex feather finish can be used to create a small dam 1/2" high just in side the area where the door closes.

I know this is an old thread but am curious about creating a dam to block water from entering my garage. I installed a garage door threshold which works very well but now the water run across the threshold and into the corner of the garage door/wall area. I am trying to figure out a way to seal that off. gejandsons I would love to see a picture of what you have created in your garage. Thanks!
