Every time it rains, water leaks into my garage through the two garage doors. The problem is that the floor is level with the driveway outside, with no slope and no step. How do I fix this? The yard slopes downwards from the driveway so if I can just get the water away from the garage it will runoff down the yard. I've heard that someone could cut grooves into the concrete floor to create a downhill water path, but I don't know whether this is a good solution, and I don't know what kind of company would do this. Any advice?

On second thought, those thresholds i referred might make matters worse if it causes a "dam" effect where water would pool in front of the doors. As usual, porch guy has an excellent solution.

Ardex feather finish can be used to create a small dam 1/2" high just in side the area where the door closes. If your interested I can post pics of mine.

I know this is an old thread but am curious about creating a dam to block water from entering my garage. I installed a garage door threshold which works very well but now the water run across the threshold and into the corner of the garage door/wall area. I am trying to figure out a way to seal that off. gejandsons I would love to see a picture of what you have created in your garage. Thanks!
