 o
Siding ID

Can anyone identify this siding? It's a particle board / Masonite type siding with what appears to be a vinyl layer giving it the wood finish. House was built in the early 1980's.

I need to replace a sheet and have no idea what to ask for when trying to find it :o

Well, darn, there doesn't seem to be much activity on this forum compared to others on GW. Or maybe I just posted in the wrong area?

I think it's more likely that your siding is very unique and it's going to be next to impossible to find.

I must admit, I don't recall ever seeing it on other houses in the area.

Probably exactly as you said Masonite siding which has not been made since the early 80's as it tended to fall apart terribly more often than not.

Thanks, millworkman. I don't know if it's actually Masonite brand, as it's definitely not falling apart anywhere other than where we damaged it. This stuff and it's faux finish looks like it will last forever.
