| I wrote to this forum before but can't find my original post so decided to start another.
My garage is 22ft deep and 25ft wide. The joists are 2 x 6"s and are parallel to a vehicle when it is parked in the garage. When we moved into the house, we thought we had an attic but were wrong and after we had stored items in the "attic", the joists began to crack and one broke in two. How can I fix this problem? Can I just sister new 2 x 6"'s up against the others or is there a better way? Please help. There are 17 joists and all are either sagging or cracked and sagging as much as 3/4 of the way through the wood. |
