Pre-hung adjustment

This weekend I installed a new exterior prehung door on the back of the house. All seemed to go OK, plumb and level. It closes fine but is really hard to open. The rubber sweeps on the bottom of the steel door are rubbing hard. Is there any way of adjusting this?

Drive some non-compressive shims under the hinge side jamb without raising the threshold?

Is your threshold adjustable--screws spaced equally across the center width? Is the door steel, wood or fiberglass?
