Can I use grout to secure border trim around a tile field?

The travertine wall tile in our bathroom stops 4 ft off the floor with no bull nose or trim on the top edge. I'm going trim to top edge with polished granite half-round. Can I set 3/4" x 1 x 12 granite trim pieces directly in sanded grout and skip the thinset?

No-Grout will not hold the trim
