Recoating acrylic coated front porch

Hi All,

I have a question related to stamped-concrete front porch coatings. My porch was original sealed/stained with a matte black BASF "Kure N Seal" Tint Curing and Sealing System. It is getting dull and I want to put a new semi-gloss coating over top of it. Any suggestions on what can be used with this type of product?

Hello hapnor!

The folks at BASF said that the kit only came in "clear." There were white and grey color packs but no matte black. "Kure and Seal" is a gloss finish (more than a semi-gloss look) that can be applied to an original surface that was acrylic (the original surface cannot be an enamel or alkyd). If the curing compound is applied over a coated surface that did not originally have sand: it will be very slippery when wet since there is no "traction."
