| I am re modeling a bathroom and am considering using a prefab shower pan. HD has one from SWAN that I have looked at but I just don't know enough about them. Does anyone have experience with these products and can you give me some advice on what to look for when purchasing this piece of material? I just dont want to go thru the trouble of setting a pan 'the old fashion way' with cement and screeding, etc. I am looking at both a pan that can be tiled and/or one that has a pebble bottom that does not need tiling. I will tile the walls.

| Added a shower last year using a fiberglass pan. A good friend who is a plumber recommended it. I was skeptical but was surprised at the feel of it, you would be hard pressed to realize it wasn't masonry. It is set in plaster , solid as a rock ,cleans really easy, and slip resistant. The only downside is the color is white. I know all about the cheesy ones that were made years ago, this nothing like those. Schluter/Kerdi makes a system for shower pans check them out. I couldn't justify the cost for an infrequently used shower. |
