Bullnose wall corner bead? is coming loose

| My house has bullnose outside drywall corners that apparently are formed using a metal bead (at least I think that's what it's called). In several places, the edges of the bead have separated from the sheetrock for a few inches causing a "crack" in the texture and paint. I can easily push the edge back down against the drywall, but what is the best way to secure it? Is there any adhesive that would work, or do I have to run screws through it and patch the finish? |

Some drywall mechanics use a corner bead that is only held on by the mud. If they don't get it just right, it can lift off. But you will be fine with some screws or drywall nails. It just might continue to crack further up, so be warned. The new plastic corner beads are held on with a nifty spray adhesive, and the subsequent mud coats.

| I've seen bullnosed installs where there were no framing studs close enough for conventional drywall screws to hit. Had to use 2" screws to secure to a stud. |
