| I repaired a storm door (single light/pane) yesterday and the client told me four years ago they paid $2000 total for the door and install from their window replacement firm. Huh?? Is that what they typically quote for jobs like that? Just wondering. It wasn't any particularly fancy door, either, just a white, single pane and I can't imagine there was much adjustment to the opening either. |

| As an example last year I replaced my rear entrance door to the Garage. The door was a 6 ft 8 door, metal skin, prehung, cost $225 from a big box store. Took me 4 hours to remove old door, mount new door, trim out and paint. The big box store charged $285 labor if you wanted them to do it. They would not paint it. $2000 sounds high. Doors can cost in the $1000s thought but from the sound of it this door was not something special. My thoughts |
