As an example last year I replaced my rear entrance door to the Garage. The door was a 6 ft 8 door, metal skin, prehung, cost $225 from a big box store. Took me 4 hours to remove old door, mount new door, trim out and paint. The big box store charged $285 labor if you wanted them to do it. They would not paint it. $2000 sounds high. Doors can cost in the $1000s thought but from the sound of it this door was not something special. My thoughts
