water coming out of soffit

When it is raining the other day I looked out the back door to see water coming from a 10' soffit - on the first floor level. Is this a diy project or do I need to call in someone?

Where is the water coming from? 10' Soffit? Is this a covered porch by chance? If you think it may possibly be a DIY project that would be your first recourse. If you do not think you can figure out where it is coming from, you would need to hire some one. From here with that little bit of info impossible for anyone to offer concrete advice.

Not a covered porch - I have a patio. It is raining again so when it stops I will take a pic.

Should I call a gutter person or a roofer?

A 10 FOOT Soffit???? Need to know where the water is actually coming through to give you the proper answer but a roofer should be able to help you in either case.
